Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic procedures are performed to correct yellow, crooked, stained, injured, misshapen, missing or deformed teeth, improving the patient's smile as well as his or her self-confidence. Cosmetic dental procedures include whitening, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, dental implants and dentures.

General Dentistry

General dentistry involves the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a wide range of dental conditions for patients of all ages, as well as the maintenance of overall oral health. This comprehensive care from a general dentist is usually the only source of care patients require for their dental needs. You can prevent dental conditions by seeing your dentist on a regular basis. Regular visits to the dentist are recommended at least once every six months in order to maintain proper oral hygiene and screen for any potential problems. These checkups involve a full mouth cleaning, as wellX-rays to provide your doctor with full, detailed images of your teeth that can help detect early signs of decay or disease.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry can help improve the appearance and overall health of your smile after experiencing tooth loss or damage from disease, injury or other causes. It is important to seek proper treatment for lost or damaged teeth in order to prevent further damage and relieve difficulties with eating or speaking.

Some of the restorative treatment options available include:

  • Full and partial dentures
  • Crowns and bridges
  • Dental implants
  • Mini dental implants
  • Inlays and onlays
  • Full mouth reconstruction

Dr. Williams will discuss the differences between these treatments with you and help you decide which option is best for you.

Geriatric Dentistry

Older patients often suffer from a number of dental problems, including discoloration and weak or missing teeth. There are many treatments available for problems that affect the elderly, including bleaching and cosmetic restorations for stained or misshapen teeth; dental implants, dentures and partial dentures to replace missing teeth; and fluoride applications to counteract dry mouth.

Pediatric Dentistry

Dental appointments for children are important to evaluate the teeth and gums as well as to educate the young patient for a lifetime of dental hygiene. We will talk with you about your child’s oral health and hygiene, including teething, fluoride, brushing and flossing, cavities, sealants and orthodontics.

Sedation Dentistry

Dr. Williams is board certified in Oral Conscious Sedation. Patients who are uncomfortable with needles and drills, who have sensitive teeth or gums, or who have a strong gag reflex can be helped with dental sedation. After one pill or injection, many patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during and after treatment. They often have little or no memory of the visit. Another benefit is that extensive treatment can be done in one or two appointments, including whitening yellow or stained teeth, replacing crowns or dentures, fixing chipped or damaged teeth, and restoring sore gums to good health.

Implant Crowns

Dental implant crowns often look and feel like natural teeth and are fused to the bone to provide stability. In fact, they may be indistinguishable from natural teeth to others. The use of porcelain crowns creates a smooth, metal-free appearance that fits in seamlessly with your other teeth.

Dental crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size or color of teeth. They can support broken or weak teeth or those with large fillings; provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for stained, misshapen or otherwise abnormal teeth; and aid in the implantation of bridges and other implants.

Dental bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to the existing teeth and do not come out. Removable dental bridges can be taken out and cleaned at home.

A dental extraction, commonly known as getting a tooth pulled, is one of the most common procedures performed at a dentist's office. While Dr. Williams will first make efforts to treat your condition and save the tooth, this is not always possible. Dental extractions are often performed to relieve a broken tooth, significant tooth decay or to remove wisdom teeth that cause overcrowding in the mouth.

Dental fillings are one of the most common types of restorative treatments, used to improve the appearance and functionality of teeth affected by damage or decay. The filling materials, which can be made from several different substances, help to even out tooth surfaces for more efficient biting and chewing. These restorations can last for many years and help keep the tooth looking and functioning at its best.
